Fishermen that Kill a Great White Should Lose Their Fishing Licenses
Actually, if we had our way they would also lose their shriveled little testicles, the vote, and would be forced to wear helmets, but we digress...
Colin Sherman was fishing off the beach at Glinks Gully, New Zealand when he claims to have found a dead 7-foot Great White Shark at the end of his line...hmmmmmm....sound suspicious?
Who is in worse shape, Colin or the dead Shark?
Mr Sherman believes the shark was a juvenile, perhaps a month old, which he says denotes the mother is probably swimming around in the vicinity. He says the shark was dead when he got to it.

A 7-foot one-month-old Great White, Colin? You gotta lay off the sauce. There isn't a Great White cunt large enough to squeeze something that big out. A baby Megalodon was never even that big. Nice story though about the thing being dead before you got to it and having a mother somewhere in world...What the fuck New Zealand, you guys need to get with the rest of the free world and tighten up your Sharking regulations. In 2008, a fisherman should fear having their picture taken with a threatened species, whether the kill was intentional, accidental(unlikely), or anything else.
Oh, and here is something that was more likely than Colin's Shark being dead when he found it. Global Warming has really been laying havoc to middle America. Look what happened on Monday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa!
Believe!

You're Killing Me...Literally.
We would so much rather post pictures of Fetal Porbeagle or nalf-naked Bjork or some functional retard holding a Snoopy fishing pole, but this is why we are really here...and we hate it.
16 out of 21 Oceanic Shark and Ray Species are Doomed!
So says an international study, organized by the IUCN Shark Specialist Group (SSG), was conducted by 15 scientists from 13 different research institutes around the world. We are being overfished in order to supply Asia with their insatiable appetite for their favorite vanity dish--Shark Fin Soup.

In most cases, Shark fishing is unregulated and unsustainable. Oftentimes, Sharks and rays are caught, finned, and their still live bodies are discarded to die slowly on the ocean floor. These discarded Sharks and Rays are rarely recorded in fishing manifests. It is a common misconception due to the powerful and fearsome appearance of Sharks that they are resilient to overfishing. This is not true. While Sharks may indeed be bad-ass, on a biological level, they mature sexually very slowly, and reproduce infrequently. The current rate of biodiversity loss is up to a hundred times greater than the historic levels of extinction. In other words: it is a Shark holocaust.

We really can't help ourselves.
The group's specific recommendations for governments address the need to:
* Establish and enforce science-based catch limits for sharks and rays
* Ensure an end to shark finning (removing fins and discarding bodies at sea)
* Improve the monitoring of fisheries taking sharks and rays
* Invest in shark and ray research and population assessment
* Minimize incidental catch ('bycatch') of sharks and rays
* Cooperate with other countries to conserve shared populations.

Despite all the evidence suggesting that Sharks are doomed to extinction, there are no international catch limits for oceanic sharks...WTF!

It looks like it is time to start boycotting Icelandic shit.
Iceland has started hunting Whales again in defiance of international law. This year the Icelandic Fishing Ministry has set a quota of up to 40 Minke Whales. Even though this is far less than the over 550 Minkes the illegal Japanese fleet killed this year, it is still a despicable disrespect of the 1986 commercial whaling ban. Not all of Iceland likes the idea of resuming commercial Whaling. Icelandic foreign minister Ingibjorg Solrun Gisladottir of the opposition party has said:
"It is clear... that the ministers of the Social Democratic Alliance (SDA) do not support the decision. I believe this is sacrificing long term interests for short term gains, despite the quota being smaller than in previous years."
Others have stated that with the Icelandic economy on shaky ground, they cannot afford potential boycotts on Icelandic seafood and other products. Other products? Like what, Bjork music downloads?

Oh, Bjork is so pretty! We have to show you her picture in it's natural unphotoshopped glory.

Behold, Bjork standing behind some traditional Icelandic fare.
So by all means Chumslickers, boycott all Icelandic products (whatever those may be) until their conservative party cuts the Whaling bullshit!
