Note to California: Don't Bury Dead Whales at Popular Surf Spots.

Fun in the Sun: Shark Party San Onofre 2003.
The above Shark party picture was taken off San Onofre, California a few months after officials buried a dead Blue Whale there. Dead Blue Whales that wash up on shore are often buried at the beaches they wash up on because it seems at the time the simplest was to get rid of the carcass. The funny thing is that a decomposing Blue Whale will bleed oils into the surf for years after a burial, but that is okay because we know that rotting Whale carcasses never ever ever attract Great White Sharks...look at this oldy but goody:
In early September a 70-foot Blue Whale washed up in Ventura County and it was quickly buried off Faria point. Have all of you noticed all the Great White Shark sightings and close calls up and down the Central Californian Cost?

And read the entire anti-whale burial editorial by Ben Marcus.
If you bury it, we will come,
