Sean O'Hearn-Gimenez, Sea Shepherd's Galapagos Director and Shark Defender in Ecuadorian Standoff
ATTENTION ECUADOR AND RAFAEL CORREA, THE WORLD IS WATCHING!

We are watching you Correa, what are you watching?
Shark Defender Sean O'Hearn-Gimenez and his Ecuadorian wife and child remain in hiding somewhere in Ecuador as they await for the Ecuadorian government to rule decisively on the state of Sean's visa. President Rafael Correa attempted to illegally deport him from Ecuador on August 3, under pressure from the Shark-fin Mafia--a group of inside government figures and industrialists that have big-time money interests in a flourishing illegal Shark poaching trade. Sean and Sea Shepherd had been integral in assisting the Ecuadorian National Police break up a criminal Shark-finning ring. Over 3 tons of Shark fins were seized--representing thousands of illegally killed Sharks. It turns out that Sean and Sea Shepherd were legally deputized by the Ecuadorian government so there actions in Shark protection are indeed legal and Sean's deportation order was revoked...but with so many Shark poachers having deep and direct ties to the highest levels of Ecuadorian government his protection is not guaranteed.

Underwater photographer, Jon Cragg discovered an albino Grey Nurse Shark off the coast of Australia's New South Wales.

Pretty cool, eh?
The really cool thing about this photograph is that it was taken off of Fish Rock, an area that is currently under review by Australia and New South Wales for wildlife preserve status. The discovery of this ultra-rare Shark can only help publicize the conservation efforts of the critically endangered Grey Nurse population.

Watch it, Correa!
